Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions outline the rules for using our website and services. By accessing or using this site, you agree to comply.

Suraiya Rahman Medical Corporation dba Pala Medicine

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Pala Medicine website located at palamedicine.com (the “Site”), operated by Pala Medicine (“Pala Medicine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These Terms do not create a doctor-patient relationship, do not constitute clinical consent to treatment, and do not govern the care you receive if you become a patient of Pala Medicine. Clinical care is governed by separate consent forms and agreements you sign directly as part of the intake process.

2. Not Medical Advice — Emergency Disclaimer

The content on this Site — including descriptions of our services, condition-specific pages, blog content, and the podcast — is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, is not a substitute for evaluation or care by a qualified physician, and should not be used to diagnose or treat any condition.

This Site is not monitored for emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, including thoughts of harming yourself or others, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You may also contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, available 24 hours a day.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Site on your own behalf. If you are accessing information about our adolescent program (AYAKAP) on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are the minor’s parent or legal guardian.

4. Contact Forms, Newsletter, and Communications

The Site includes a contact form and a newsletter signup. Please do not submit protected health information, details about your medical history, or other sensitive health information through the contact form or newsletter signup — these channels are not intended for clinical communication and are not part of your medical record.

If you wish to communicate with us about your care, please use the secure patient portal (see Section 5) or contact our office directly by phone.

Our collection and use of information submitted through the Site is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

5. Patient Portal

Links on the Site to a patient portal direct you to a secure third-party electronic health record platform operated by our EHR provider. The Site itself does not host any patient login, account credentials, or clinical data. Your use of the patient portal is governed by that provider’s own terms of use and privacy policy, not by these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or any systems connected to it;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site;
  • Use any automated system, including bots or scrapers, to access the Site in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce, without our express written permission;
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site; or
  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute Site content except as permitted under Section 7.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and the overall design — is owned by Pala Medicine or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print content from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. No other use, including reproduction, modification, distribution, or republication, is permitted without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including professional organizations, training programs, and podcast platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement of that site.

9. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information on the Site is complete, accurate, or current. Statistics, outcomes, or success rates referenced on the Site, if any, reflect general information and do not guarantee any individual result.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PALA MEDICINE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE.

Nothing in this section is intended to limit liability for clinical care, which is governed separately by the terms of your treatment agreement and by applicable law, and which cannot be limited by this website document.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pala Medicine, its owners, employees, and agents from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
