Colorado Natural
Medicine Program

Comprehensive medical evaluations to determine whether psilocybin-based natural medicine services are safe and appropriate for you.

Colorado’s Natural Medicine Health Act established a regulated program allowing adults to access psilocybin at state-licensed Healing Centers.

If you are considering it, one question deserves an answer first:

is this medically safe for you?

That is the question we help you answer.

For most participants, a Pala Medicine consultation is a voluntary safety measure. For participants with a qualifying risk factor under Colorado’s regulations, documentation of clearance from a licensed professional is what the healing center is required to obtain before that person can proceed.

Pala Medicine provides a thorough medical risk assessment by a physician trained in psychedelic medicine. You receive a consultation and review of potential risks associated with psilocybin based on your health history, your medications, and your circumstances. What you do with that information is entirely your decision.

What We Handle

We provide one thing: a medical consultation and risk review, performed in California, that assesses whether psilocybin use would be safe for you.

Our physicians are trained specifically in psychedelic medicine. This is not a checkbox exercise. It is a genuine clinical assessment by clinicians who understand these medicines and the conditions that can make them unsafe.

What We Don't Do

Pala Medicine does not administer, prescribe, supply, or arrange access to psilocybin. Psilocybin remains a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law and is not legal in California.

Pala Medicine has no financial relationship with any Colorado healing center, receives no compensation from them, and has no involvement in what happens there.

Why the Evaluation Matters

Psilocybin is not appropriate for everyone. Certain conditions and medications carry real risk, and some of them are easy to miss without a careful clinical review.

A physician evaluation looks at:

  • Personal and family history of psychosis, bipolar disorder, or other conditions that psilocybin may worsen
  • Cardiovascular health, including blood pressure and heart conditions
  • Current medications, particularly SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, lithium, and other serotonergic agents
  • Prior experiences with psychedelic or dissociative medicines
  • Your overall medical history and current stability

We provide medical evaluations for clients who are independently seeking psilocybin-based healing services in Colorado under the State’s 2022 Natural Medicine Health Act. Start your journey by clicking below.

Important Information

Psilocybin is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance under the federal Controlled Substances Act and is not legal in California. Colorado’s Natural Medicine Health Act establishes a state-regulated framework for supervised psilocybin use at licensed healing centers within Colorado; that framework applies only within that state.

Pala Medicine provides medically-based consultation and risk review services only (in accordance with Colorado 4 CCR 755-1 6.16 F 1 a). We do not administer, prescribe, dispense, supply, or arrange access to psilocybin. We do not operate, own, or maintain any business relationship with Colorado healing centers, and we receive no compensation from any such entity. Evaluation services are provided in California by California-licensed physicians and are paid for directly by the client. Any services obtained in Colorado are provided by Colorado-licensed entities under Colorado law and are paid for directly by the client.

This evaluation does not constitute a recommendation, prescription, or endorsement of psilocybin use. Decisions regarding psilocybin are made solely by the individual.
